How can I improve my pacing in HW, SATs, writing exams, APs?

I know that if i take a bunch of SATs and APs for practice i could get faster i guess..maybe not more efficient which is what i really want. EFFICIENCY at the same time as QUICKNESS.

when i do my HW or any school related thing I stretch out the time before me and go to bed at 11 PM or 12 PM. I start at 4pm. So i do my homework very slowly. takes me more than 3 or 4 hours! that’s prepostorous but i am THAT slow. Same with the SAT. I had to skip 15 questions on my PSAT because i was soooo SLLLOOOWW.

i have to pick up my pace and thinking ability. For AP English, the teacher assigns the class to read and annotate. and this is a college course, so we have to really reALLLY annotate the books we read but at the same time also connect everything and understand the themes, symbols, etc. i love this subject but i need a lot of time to concentrate, to understand, to read, to picture everything, to highlight important things. but then my parents want me to go to bed earlier, to be faster..

Speed reading can be helpful – this is a skill that doesn’t come to you overnight, so it must be practiced. When reading, try to pick out key words/important information. Some things may be extremely detailed, but if you understand the basics first, then it is a good starting point. As for SATS, I suggest doing more practice. What you could do is add 10 min more to the suggested time for each section..like if it says you have 25 min to complete one section, then try to do it in 35 and little by little, you can decrease the increments so eventually, you’ll be able to finish it in the given time. And..maybe you should start hw earlier..and avoid any temptations when working like using your laptop, TV, phone, etc

Look into taking a speed reading course. Learn to skim by reading for content and looking for main ideas when it is not necessary to annotate each passage.
