No it is not illegal not to talk to your father. If there is a custody hearing that he petitions (meaning he starts the process with the courts) you have the option to speak to the judge in private in his chambers. Majority of all states allow this. In all custody hearings it is about who will provide the best environment for the minor child(ren). If you are already going through an adult education program, I don’t think he can make you go to school. This again falls on what state you live in or the state your father lives in. You can find a lot of answers by going to your states website (example: www.ca.state.gov) and look under the listings such as state laws concerning minors, or their education sites.

It is not illegal to not talk to your dad. It isn’t beneficial perhaps, but not illegal.

If he tries for full custody you are of age that you can tell the court your preferance and they will take it into consideration.

If your mom has had custody up to this point then there is probably a reason that he doesn’t have custody and usually that doesn’t change very often, unless certain circumstances arise with your mother and she is found to be an unfit mother. (which I doubt will happen)

If you are getting your diploma in 2 months then you will have officially finished high school and he can’t make you go back and take more. So you are safe there.

It’s perfectly legal to not speak to your father if you don’t want too! But you do need to do the christian thing and forgive him even if you never speak to him again.

If he sues for full custody and wins then yes you will have to live with him! but the good news is your old enough to tell the judge that you want to live with your mom and why you choose to live with her!

If you have your diploma then there is no more home school for you! Congrats! But I would look into college. Do something with your life! Make you mother proud!

Unfortunately such things do not fall under the decision of a 15 year old child – but i feel for you – what a terrible place to be in your life – Make sure you talk to your moms lawyers about how you feel and why you feel that way towards your father – but im sure your mom will fight for you – to the death!
