There are many online schools that you do coursework over the internet as a homeschooler. Some are more intearctive than others. At the very least you have a textbook and e-mail with the teacher. Others have a course management system where you do a good bit of the work at the course website. Yet others have an online classroom where you sign in at particular times with the teacher and classwmates. These online classrooms have voice, text chat, whiteboard, and often webcam.

Try an internet search for online schools and check the HSLDA website to find out what the homeschool laws are in your state.

I am home-schooled and my mom helps me. I’m doing Abeka for the first time this year and I am really enjoying it. They send you books and DVDs where you can watch a teacher teach in a classroom. I find the DVDs much better than just trying to read a book and learn. I like that if you don’t get what they’re teaching you can just watch it again. It is Christian based, so you have to take a Bible class every year. And they base all the subject around that mostly. It’s about $6000 per year (I think). You can also choose for them to keep your records. So you have to send stuff in but then you don’t have to worry about getting your credits. You will need to get transcripts from your school and send them to Abeka and probably any other place you choose to work with. I have heard there are some good online schools, but I haven’t tried any.
