U need 2 ask ur self what state? What college or university… what is the cost, how far is it from home? Other than wanting 2 go 4 the adventure, r u really focused, can handle being w/out family, can u handle the added stress? It does get lonely & many young adults find it hard to make the transition. If u r very independent, r reliable and extremely focused on ur studies u will do well to pursue ur dreams.

Contact the college/university ur interested in. They luv out of state students and their r usually scholarships to offset the out of state tuition charges. Applying online, answering essay questions fully and with passion about why u want to be a student of xyz university. If they have a login program, sign up… they track ur visits to their website. They encourage and luv ur questions. Be proactive & look for scholarship money with Fin Aid office of your school. It’s impressive when u know the aid they offer because u looked at their website and follow everything.

FastWeb was helpful in my own DD dream school. I found the scholarship, the sametime my DD received news from Fastweb. Which guaranteed 4 yrs provided she meets GPA standards?

She applied tor three out of state schools & was accepted by all of them. Then came the process of figuring out which one was best for her. She visited 2 of the 3, one she just ruled out because they were hit by hurricane. Her first choice flew us down to see the campus, meet other students, faculty etc…on them. It was a toss up/ but her first choice had a better financial aid pkge. It was a 4 yr deal…

Things we’ve learned: have a plan for emergency what if scenario, link up with your local church denomination in new state. So that u have families who will welcome u for a home cooked meal, invite 2 family gatherings, and if in emergency will come and keep ur family informed what’s going on. An Adults who if u go to the hospital. will be there to support u so ur not alone in a new city with no one. They act as liaison. Before going to college go to ur dentist. Have wisdom teeth addressed prior going to college. Get ur meningitis vaccination. I could write a book of stuff, just plan and check list. And be flexible… Dream Big Ally and make it happen!!!
