Rumage sales. Have everyone involved donate stuff

Hold a dinner somewhere and sell tickets. Pasta is cheap and easy to make, so I suggest that.

Candy sales work great during the school year for anyone still in school, I think a company that does it is called Americas Best.

Start up a business, for lack of a better term, where everyone rakes leaves or shovels snow, mows lawns, and other light yard or house work and give all the profits to charity.

If you are looking to raise money you could start by contacting your local churches and non profit companies who may be able to help you gain more exposure and may partner with you if they believe in your cause. Tell them your plans (i.e., how much you need to make, what you are willing to do, for what the money will be used, etc.). You can always try the usual fund raising techniques like car washes, bingo, raffles, and things like that. You could also contact the media to raise awareness of what you are doing. Call the local news and tell them what you are doing, they could perhaps put you on air to talk about it.
