Should I go to law school?

I have heard terrible things about the job market as far as lawyers are concerned. I don’t want to go through 3 years of law school and not even get a job when I graduate. I live in MS and plan on staying in MS. Advice?

Try being a paralegal at a law firm first to gain connections within the legal community. That’s the best way to feel out the job market.

Also, if you’re still an undergrad, try interning at a law firm for credit.

The best way to answer the question that you’re asking is to talk to local professionals and test the waters a bit.

A law degree from a T14 is very marketable. They are actively recruited by the top firms and the “megafirms.” However, these megafirms are in major cities like Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, and San Francisco. I’m not too sure what your luck would be in Minnesota. In addition, there isn’t a T14 in Minnesota.

Also, T14 stands for Top 14, these are the law schools that consistently rank in the top 14 law schools in the nation.

we are in year 2007, and pretty soon, when you graduate, it will be 2011 or something!!

The competition will be tough!

this not just true for Law, but this is true for usually all professional jobs!!

Or course, you have to take the bar exam or soemthing!

You want to stay in MS?

I don’t know… I live in Alaska, and traveling to the Lower 48 states would be too expensive for me… so I decided to just studing in University of Alaska Anchorage..

but in your case, you live there….why not use the opportunity to go out of state unless your home state has a good school?
