Just got two grants and a loan, can i use that money for living expenses?
I’m 27 and I just got some financial aid through two grants and a loan. It’s more than enough to cover my education, but if i go to school full time i cant afford all my basic living expenses. is there a way to use that money for rent/ bills/food, and if so HOW?

You need to contact your schools financial aid office. many schools, like mine, figure in living expences when estimating your needed loan and grant amounts. You should recieve an overage check after all of your tuition and fees are paid. You can usually do what you need to with the remaining money. Mine will go towards childcare and commuting expences while i attend. A student loan is technically your money since you will be paying it back, so after tuition and fees, they would have a hard time telling you what to do with the rest.

If your education is covered and there is sum left over – then live it up. The grants and loans should be sent to your school and once the tuition is covered they will cut you a check for the difference.

Why not take the grants and pay off the loan, then spend any excess money as you like.

Generally the money goes to the school first and then they take out what is needed for tuition and fees and will cut you a check for the remaining amount which you can you for anything.
