I was assistant director of the play. The script says to pronounce the T, but I had my doubts. I wanted to be historically correct. I emailed Miep Gies. This was shortly before she died. She replied, “The T is indeed silent and good luck with your production.” She actually knew Margot Frank. If I believe anyone about this, it’s her.

In the movie it is pronounced “Mar-get”. But I have heard it pronounced both ways.
