Here’s the Job Corps site – it’s got TONS of info…take a look at it and read the requirements. There is a section that tells you that you’ll have to meet with an outreach counselor who will go over the requirements – and to be eligible you have to meet all of the following requirements:

1. Be at least 16 but not yet 25

2. Registered for Selective Service if you are a male

3.Be a United States citizen, a United States National, a lawfully admitted permanent resident alien, refugee, asylum seeker, or parolee, or other alien who has been authorized by the Attorney General to work in the United States.

4. Be a low-income individual.

5. Be an individual who is one or more of the following:

a. A school dropout

b. An individual who requires additional education, vocational training, or intensive career counseling and related assistance in order to participate successfully in regular schoolwork or to secure and hold employment

c. Basic skills deficient

d. Homeless, runaway, or a foster child

e. A parent

No. You do not. You just need to call up the JobCorp number and see when they will be in your area and set up an appointment for questions and answers.

You’ll need your ID, your social security card, high school transcripts, stuff like that. They’ll give you some papers to fill out. They’ll ask you to write a paragraph about why you want to join. They’ll get you out of there as quick as you want them to once you have given them everything they’ve asked for.

They will ask about your parents’ income as well. Just explain your situation.
