You will need your tax return from last year, and if you’re under 25 (I think?) and not married or have kids, you will need your parents info as well (even if you’ve been living on your own). You need to decide what field/program you’re interested in, and what schools you are interested in. You will have to take into consideration how much tuition is, how close the school is to you, whether or not you will work while you’re in school, etc. You will have many questions which I can’t answer here, but the school of your choice will be able to help you more. If you are not sure what you want to do, start at community college. They’re cheaper, the class sizes are smaller, and they lend themselves better to continuing ed students than many larger universities. One word of caution – any student loans you take out, you MUST pay back, even if you withdraw from school or don’t get a job in your field. If you default they can sieze your tax returns, garnish your wages, and the Dept. of Ed can even litigate against you. So make sure you plan ahead wisely. Good luck, and congratulations on wanting to make something of yourself!
