I’m a sophomore, and I score a 1670 or 167 on my PSAT. Is this a good score?

If this is not a good score, then what is? Can someone please give me the requirments that good colleges usually have for high school students? Do grades in freshman and sophomore year account for much?

a 1670 is very, very good!!! when i first took my PSAT, i got a 1020, and that was a good starting point.

so if you got a 1670, then you rock!

here go to this link http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/sat/about/sat/FAQ.html#quest16

there are frequently asked questions about the SAT to help you figure things out.

and basically, high school students should have consisitency in grades and they should be good grades of course. grades in freshman and sophomore do matter because it all ties together with your overall GPA. (grade point average)

colleges look at GPA and HPA (which is honors point average)

and also, extra ciricular activites, like clubs and sports, are very very important

hope this all helps =]

That is a very solid score. When i took the psat’s last year I got a 162. Now when I take old SAT’s i score in the 1900 range, so your score will go up naturally as you learn more material.

I just got my results back today and I scored a 1680. I think that these scores are pretty average. To get into a really good school they say you should have a 600 for each. So I’m just gonna study more on subjects I didn’t score that high on and take them again next year.
