I am 62 years old and want to get a law degree; realistically , am I too old?

I have limited funds, am a co-owner of a struggling company and have limited time to for studies.

You’re not too old. I am a single mom, I work full time as an accountant, and I attend law school at night. The only thing you should keep in mind is that whereever you go, you will most likely have to take 3 classes. I think it is an ABA standard… that is my struggle. I am in class 12 hours a week, and then I study approximately 30-40 hours outside of class and work and spending time with my daughter….

Depending on where you go, the cost might not be that bad. I pay 12K a year (without financial assistance.)

Many of my colleagues are in their late 30’s to early 60’s.

If it’s what you want, you’ll figure out a way to do it I guess.

Good Luck!

You aren’t too old but if you have limited time for studies forget it. You would need 15 to 25 hours a week of studying.

I am 53 and just got my BS in General Studies. You have to do what you want. Remember if you are 65 and attending school full time, the have some forgiveness in student loans. Check into that.

You’re not too old at all! I attended nursing school with many women in your age bracket. They tended to be better students with a higher success rate than us twenty-somethings. (In fact, I was one of the few “traditional-age” students to complete the program/receive my degree/pass the state nursing boards. The “mature” students with families and obligations did much better.)
