Besides grades, most scholarships look at community involvement; extra curricular activities like sports, honor society, student government, the arts, and recommendations from teachers. Many will also consider hardship stories or stories of personal triumph such as over coming a personal or academic struggle to finish strong as a junior and/or senior.

If income is a factor, it is supposed to say so on the application. If it IS a factor they will ask for your income in the application form. If it is NOT a factor they will not ask you for your income.

Income is more for financial aid, not scholarships. But they look at grades, test scores, extracirriculars, if you play an instrument, are good at art, act, sing, dance, play a sport, volunteering, if you’re a minority group, essays, etc. Go to fastweb.com, fill out their profile, and you can see a wide array of scholarships you’re elligible for. Check your school’s website to see what they offer as well., most large scholarships are for atheletes, or based on academics, but some smaller ones can be given for different things.
