College loan help please!!!?

Ok so here’ s the thing…I filled out my fafsa they only pay for tuition and nothing else. I applied for a sallie mae loan and my school said they only give you like 2000 dollars. They said that I will need those 2 things and a bigger loan with a cosigner and if I cant get a cosigner I cant attend there. The problem is I have no one in my family with good credit, and I have little or no credit. I just need a loan program that will grant me money with no cosigner or credit…i dont care if the intrestest is sky high I just need something…PLEASE HELP!

My husband is a student and we get our loans through Astrive. Only because they have the same interest rate as Sallie Mae and you don’t have to wait for the money. There are a bunch of loans through Sallie Mae that you can get and they go up to $40,000, same as Astrive. I find with student loans the practice of lending tends not to be as tight as say buying a car or house. Even with NO credit you can still be approved. How else would you build credit if nobody will start you somewhere. You do have to be employed to be approved, so that might a factor if you don’t have a job. Unless you are entering a field where there is a lot of earning potential, like medicine or law. That always approved those loans cause chances are they get that money back. There is nothing wrong with applying and if they deny you, you can ask them to reconsider. The process is based on your credit score and other things in your credit thats “flagged” by their computer and they’ll deny you. But if you ask for an appeal, then a real person goes over your report and any information that you think is pertinent to being reconsidered. Shop around too. A lot of banks give out student loans, if you have an account somewhere that is in good standing then go talk to a person at the branch and maybe they can help you. Also do a search online for different lenders. Other than that, you can try to go to the library and do a search for different scholarships. You’d be AMAZED at how many scholarships and grants that there are out there that go unclaimed. If nothing works, build your credit. Get a low limit credit card and charge only things you can afford and pay it on time.

Go back to FAFSA or Sallie Mae and see if they would be willing to give you more money. Explain to them honestly your situation and maybe they would be willing to do this. Otherwise, I would think about seeing if you could apply for a credit card (a lot of credit cards now have student credit cards with low interest rates and no yearly membership fees) and you can make your college payments on that then pay back the credit card in a payment that you can manage. Good luck and I hope this helped, and good luck in college, i’m paying off my student loan right now and thinking of going back for my Masters next fall. Oh, another thing, I know here in Georgia if you have never been to college, they have a loan program through the state that you can apply for, so look at your states govt. website and see what you can find. Good luck!

Students who are looking for a bad credit student loan should pick three schools they are most interested in, talk to the admissions office, and ask what is needed to apply in their school.A bad creditdepending on whether you are a homeowner or not. The rate of interest to be paid on unsecured bad credit student loans is higher than that on secured bad credit student loans. This is because the secured bad credit student loans are backed by your home as a security.

One thing you can do is have your parents apply for the Parent Plus Loan. Since their credit is not good, they will most likely be denied. Dont’ worry, this is good. Because of their denial, you are automatically eligible for an unsubsidized Stafford loan along with your subsized one that you probably got from the initial Fafsa. Your eligible for up to 4000.00. try Fannie Mae… I know in NYS we have fafsa and TAP, check out if your state has grants. Your finical aide office should be able to let you know if there are any grants you can get, and other loan company’s. I know Fannie Mae, but other then that I’m not sure. Plus check out your schools scholarships.

Good Luck!
