Its not your credit that counts its your income. To much income means no free money.

If you are getting a grant from the Federal government, then your credit is not a factor in getting the grant. The main reasons for being turned down for a grant are: having an Expected Family Contribution that is too high and not attending enough classes. You may also have to repay your grant if you withdraw from too many classes. I would suggest talking to the financial aid office at your school to get all of these things clarified. Good luck!

You only are turned down for grants if you make too much money. Grants are like free money, you only have to pay it back. Credit scores have nothing to do with Grants or federal student loans. Also, students in graduate school are not eligible for grants, but you can get what is called a grad plus loan.

A Grant is based on income. The lower your income, the more likely you are to get one. Some people get turned down because they make too much money, are defaulted on a student loan, have a poor college GPA, too long to get their college degree. Perhaps you are confusing a grant with a student loan? You can get a federal student loan regardless of your credit history, but some private student loans do require you to have good credit. (I wouldn’t recommend getting a private student loan because the interest is higher)

Good Luck.
