Can anybody tell me how to qualify for financial aid?

Im a senior right now, and headed towards a CSU, then to work on my doctorate for pharmacology, however I cant afford it, I want this more than anything, yet if I don’t have the funds to pay for this, I wont be able to achieve my dream. The government tends to think that my parents “make too much money” however they are seperated, but legally still married, my mother is the only one who takes care of me. I want this so bad, can anybody tell me how to qualify for financial aid???????

Get a job and file your own income tax as non dependent of your parents. Then file for a FASFA. when you file your taxes. You will need to know the college you are planning to attend and have an application or acceptance in place. Actually I did it backwards. I filed to see if I could get a Pell Grant then when I got it then I applied at the college but you do need to know where the money should be sent it doesn’t come straight to you until after tuition and books are paid for then you get the remainder the less money you make the better your chances are for a larger amount. You can qualify with a part time job.

Good Luck “shoot for the moon even if you miss you will be among stars.”

as soon after Jan 1st as possible, and after your mom has done her taxes, file for federal financial aid on www.fafsa.ed.gov. Since your parents are separated you do not need to include your dad’s income information on your application. If your mom becomes remarried before you file your fafsa you would need to put your step-dads income on your application.

Good Luck.

Its extra tricky however you’ll consistently get loans. You ought to fill out a fafsa (google it- must be a .gov web page) after which you’ll discover out. It is also too overdue for the autumn semester despite the fact that.
