you just have to start believing in yourself. if your friends aren’t there for you, then go to someone who you love. give yourself targets/goals, reward yourself if you meet them.

get yourself a new group of friends, it doesn’t even have to be a group, 1 or two new Friends.

have faith in yourself, and start believing. no-one gets anywhere without believing in themselves.

good luck, and you will do well if you set your mind to it.

Somehow I get the feeling that you are always wanting help with something. If you are in grade 11, it is time to grow up and start being a “big girl.”

You cannot spend your life expecting someone to come along behind you, pushing you to do what you must, or cleaning the messes you leave behind when you do not do as you should.

Your question was directly on point, however. You asked, “How can I make myself cope better?”

And that is the secret–you MUST do that yourself. Simply resolve that you will start becoming more independent. It will not be easy; after having leant upon someone else all your life, it will be tough to take it all on your own. It wouldn’t hurt to seek a bit of help on something new or quite difficult, but you really do need to be your own best friend; do those things for you that you need to do. Someday you may be in a situation where you are all you have. Better get ready for that day. Sooner or later, it almost always happens, at least for a while, to everyone. Good luck!

Make an outline of what you need to know or do with subheadings and the whole bit, listing what time of day to do what, etc.

Use flashcards that you make yourself if you need to memorize anything. Make them fun, use imagination… funny words, colors, anything that tickles you.

Use those 3″ by 5″ cards to write bits of essays and things on and ‘cut and paste’ on a table or other surface, getting away from the ‘puter for a while…

Open a couple of books to the relevant pages and put stick-ems on the important paragraphs with a couple of words written on them to act as cues for the memory… like a prompter for the theater.

It goes on. I hope others come up with good ideas!
