Because before ever reading it they should be taken to enjoy MANY many productions of his work first. It is a play. Plays are meant to be performed. Reading enjoyment only comes later when visual enjoyment has been ‘activated’.

John Gielgud said that he rarely ‘read’ plays. He was one of the great Shakespearean actors.

So take the kids to a matinee at a professional theatre!

It’s complicated to understand lol the english was too high to even get a gist of it in short it brainf*cks lol and kids wants something happenning and hep, it’s not easy to follow Shakespeare by kids easily unless u make it interesting and easy, the most easy way to make kids interested in Shakespeare it to enact his written material into plays and movies or with the help of a english teacher write it down in easy understandable manner. In short a english translation to a very easy extent ofcourse the main Shakespeare has to be there else Shakespeare’s original stuff will be totally forgotten.

Probably because the tone, the language, or the grammatical expressions in Shakespeare’s work are to difficult to comprehend. As a child, I had to battle with the same problem, until recently.

Children hate reading anything when offered TV and Wii or PS as an alternative.

Because it is another language. In addition to just reading the work, you pretty much have to translate the writing before analyzation.
