When was “deutchebag” or “douchebag” first use to insult people?

I’ve always wondered who used it first or when it was used as a pejorative term. I first used it in 98. Seems like everyone uses it now.

I’ve only seen that term used in articles about Michael Moore.

Terms such as shower pocket, douchebag, d-bag, DB, doucherama, doucher, douche turd, douchington, douche nozzle, wobbulating douch, douche nugget, douche gasket, creme’ le douche, or simply douche are considered pejorative terms in Australia, the United States, Canada and New Zealand. The slang usage of the term dates back to the 1960s.

I first heard it used a lot around 1970 through 1978.

It was when the first mixed in disposable containers Summers Eve, Massengel (my spelling could be incorrect) and other feminine hygiene products for douching

were first advertised on television.

Yes – douchebag is and was a feminine ‘appliance’ for hygeine. Also, forms of them have been around for centuries and used as a contraceptive device. So, someone called one would be unwanted/waste material.
