It translates to “I’m gonna be suspicious of you and where you’ve been as long as we are together.”

Basically too good to be true means ‘you seem almost perfect’.
There’s a saying ‘If it looks to good to be true, it probably is’. This is a warning to be careful, caveat emptor-let the buyer beware. If a product is in this category then suspicion is warranted. The same would apply to a person who might put on their best face to fool you into thinking they are something they are not. It’s not often one sees so much good in one person, seemingly perfect, but there are genuinely good people around who are fine. But, just the same, it’s best not to be too trusting too soon.
