A retard is short someone who is mentally retarded- that is their capacity for learning and thinking are smaller then the average person’s.
Miscellaneous means things that are of trivial importance, I could say “can you bring all the beach chairs and umbrellas to the beach, but leave all the miscellaneous stuff that will only take up space”.
And it’s pronounced MIS-IL-LANE-NEOUS but say it really fast 😛

Retard is short for retarded and it is used as a slam on someone when they do something considered ‘retarded’ it is not a very mature remark to use as it slams and insult people who are mentally challenged.
Please be kind enough NOT to use it !

yes, miscellaneous means all that Dragons Fire stated. it could also mean “the rest”…. such as if you’re classifying a group of books, and you have them categorized by authors, you could have a section for stephen king, one for robert frost, one for J.K. Rowling, and you could just classify what’s left as “miscellaneous. possibly not a really good example, but its the first thing that came to mind. as far as pronouncing it, i’m not sure how to explain that in type. sorry.
