What’s the difference between the words digitize and digitalized ?
Favorite Answer
Personally, I would say Digitized world over digitalized world but I can imagine there are cases where digitalized would sound better.
Digitize, means to conver the reading from a gauge reading, like a watch with hour, minute and second pointers, to a number.
Digital means that the value of reading of quantity is expressed in numbers only. Not the same as the moving indicator of you cars speedometer that has a needle pointing to the speed at which you are travelling on a background gauge graduated in increments of velocity.. It would be represented as a number ie. 60 km/hr.
Digitalize is not in my English dictionary and probabaly means the same as Digitise but from the habit of Americans to add superflous parts to words and confusing endings to words that do not need them.
I do not know what you mean by a digitized world or digitalized world, unless you are referring to Computors, communications like mobile phones and TV or radio. The world is not Digitized or Digitalized. It is analogue. You need a some physical object to measure the quantity. Your fingers to count how many oranges are in the box, a tape measure to record the size of the box. When you have recorded this information you have Digitized the value.
