what’s the difference between “such” and “such as”??
also is this sentence correct??
“the meetings the admin held had a good impact on the economic societies in JAH, it inevitably has raised the level of knowledge and information of the attendees”
is it ok to use the past tense then the present perfect like it’s shown in the sentence above?
Favorite Answer
“The meetings went well. They have raised the consciousness of all who attended.”
Even the first responder to your question, who is wrong, would have to agree that my two sentences above are perfectly fine from a tense standpoint.
However, the sentences are poor regarding vocabulary and structure. (And yes, they should be two sentences. At worse, use a semicolon–but a semicolon is definitely on its way out in American English.)
I could clean up your sentences a bit in this fashion.
“The meetings that the administration held had a favorable impact on economic societies in X. The information has raised the level of knowledge of the attendees.”
(GOOD IMPACT isn’t quite right, and INEVITABLY seems like a poor word choice.)
Ah, writing is SUCH a chore.
However, I do write well–SUCH AS you see me do here!
a woman with such beauty
such as is used when comparing something
you should change it to
The Meeting, the administrator held, had a good impact on the economic societies in JAH. It Inevitably had risen the level of knowledge and information of the attendees
