What’s the difference between Latin and Pig-Latin?

My brother told me but I’m not sure. What’s the difference?

Latin’s a real (and dying) language whereas Pig Latin is just a way of disguising regular English to make it look indecipherable to people who don’t know Pig Latin.

See here this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pig_latin , and this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latin for more details.

Latin is an ancient Indo-European language that was originally spoken in Latium, the region immediately surrounding Rome. Pig latin is a joke lanquage often used by kids spoken by taking the first letter of the word and putting it at the end of the word then adding an “ay” Example: the word soda would become odasay in pig latin.

Latin is a language with its own grammar and syntax. Pig-Latin is a game children play by arranging the sounds of English, thus it is a silly way of pronouncing another language, but it is not a language at all.

Latin is one of the classical languages, a basis for most others; English at least. Pig-latin is to speak English words with an “ay” (long a) sound at the end of every word. A sort of dumb code.

Latin is several millenia old and is the basis for most of our modern languages.

Pig Latin is simply taking the first letter of each English word and putting it at the end of the word and adding the “ay” sound after it to emulate something that vaguely resembles the sound of Latin.

The word “pig” ??!!

Seriously, here’s the formula:

“1. Remove the preceding consonant(s) from the word and

put them at the end.

2. Add “-ay” to the end of the word.

Example:

Pig Latin = igpay atinlay”
