A barbershop – generally for male-only haircuts & shaves beards. Not usually for ‘style’ cuts. As far as I know the word is still in use, I live on the gold coast and there are PLENTY barbers around – in most shopping centres actually!
Hairdressers – hair stylists that do style cuts, shampoo & blow dry, perms, hairstyles/updos, colour etc. For both male and female. Higher prices than a barbershop however prices range from relatively cheap to very expensive. Sometimes do eyebrow waxing and eyelash tinting also.
Beauty salon – generally beauty therapy services such as all types of hair removal and tinting, facials, massage, manicure and pedicure etc.
Sometimes there are Hair and Beauty salons which combine hairdresser and beauty therapy services.
Hope this helps 🙂

I own a salon and that i’m a grasp Barber. the version is in centers presented and private variety. i’m a barber to my guy purchasers and that i grant salon centers to my females purchasers. I grant an excellent variety of mens centers that they are in a position to easily get here in a barber shop putting. warm shaves, particular epidermis maintenance. Chemical centers make no distinction as adult males get perms and colorations. however old time barbers frequently have not got adequate sensible use of a few of that expertise.
