what is the tense?

if i say,”Im proud of marrying him”, does it mean i am proud that i married him? or i am proud that i am going to marry him?

Could be either…totally ambiguous…shows the importance of aiming to be accurate in communicating.

It means, “I’m proud that I am married to him.” If you look at the construction of the sentence, you see that you’re proud of marrying him – you’re proud of having married him – you’re proud of the fact that you are married to him.

If the other meaning was implied, instead of the ‘of’ there would have been an ‘I’m’.
