Sentence 2 is right because you are using “did you” before the word making it already past tense- i think thats the reason. I am sure its sentence 2 though

Sentence two is correct, because the person is already grown, and “grow” is past tense, whereas “grew” is some kind of present tense, though not purely present, I think. ;-}
Sorry, just can’t think now of all the terms used to describe tense in the English language. Just know that “grow” is past tense in that sentence.
Of course in some other sentence it could be present tense… you just have to pay strict attention to context.
