Let’s say you have to give a speech. You use something like index cards and put down key words to help you tell your ‘story’ in the order you intended to.

Or, in school, you make the outline in history class of important dates.

Or, if you are getting married it would be something like this: 1. Pre-Wedding . {and under that} a. Call church b. Set date c. order invitations d. address invitations.

II. Rehearsal Dinner. {and under that} a. Call caterer b. Decide who will be there c. Who will pay?

Then III. Clothes. a. Go shopping for clothes. b. Pack honeymoon suitcases.

This is just a loose idea.

Then you use this as a checklist of things to do. I hope this helps.
