What does the sentence “She brings the shotgun down on the hood of the truck” mean?
Does the sentence “She brings the shotgun down on the hood of the truck” mean that she is going to shoot at the truck? (It is used in the following context: “She sees Jim’s sawed-off shotgun. She picks it up and starts swinging it, breaking whatever she can. The she turns and looks at the Badlands. She brings the shotgun down on the hood of the truck. Jamie comes over, grabs her before she can swing again.”)

To me, this means she beats on the hood of the truck with the shotgun. This fits in with Jamie grabbing the gun before she can bang it on the truck again.

Since the other actions are of the breaking type and not the shooting type, I would surmise beating the truck hood.
