Paki to me is short for Pakistani … I have Muslim friends from Pakistan, though, and I don’t like this ‘shortening’ of their nationalities. That would be like calling an American an ‘Ami’ … a person from Pakistan is a Pakistani.

I happen to know that, for reasons unfathomable, Yahoo thinks that JustMe is in Canada, so she gets the Canadian filters. On her account, “paki” shows up as “****”. On my account, it shows up as “paki”. Obviously, Canadians are too frail and delicate to be allowed to see “paki”.

If someone uses that term, I would presume they were referring (rather impolitely) to someone who is Pakistani.
