Nomad’s got it right, if you’re talking music. It is also slang for a big jerk or obnoxious person with the “A” standing for a certain part of the posterior anatomy! As in, “He’s acting alike a major A.” This is used in polite company, as in Yahoo, instead of actually using the real word. peace
