It means when a situation happens, there is no perfect outcome…you have to accept the negative as well as the positive. For example, when you win the lottery–the good is obviously you are rich and whatever comes with that; that bad would be all of the negative attention you would get (people wanting to borrow money all the time). Everything that happens in life, no matter how good, is going to have a negative side to it, hence taking the good with the bad.

Just imagine a beautiful rose. Imagine you love roses. The color, the delicate petals, the way it opens up slowly, the smell it gives out. You would like to have this rose. So, you reach out and break the stem with your bare hands. The thorns of the rose stem cut your fingers and it hurts.

But you have that rose to look at, sniff in the sweet, intriguing

fragrance.

But you also need a bandaid.

Good with bad.

Nothing in life is perfect.

Live with it.

“This new job is great but I have to take the good with the bad. The good – great money, interesting work, good opportunities for promotion.

The bad – long hours, difficult colleagues, away from home.”

That phrase is usually the other way around you know..taking the bad with the good.

It’s easy to take the good with the bad. You’re probably going to need it!
