“We will not be undersold…”

That means that whatever they sell, other places won’t go lower than the prices they sell their products at.

“…Guaranteed”

Always 😀

It means they will do price matching. You need to provide proof of the lower price at the competitor’s store, such as an ad or sales flyer. Sometimes the sales clerk will even call the other store to see if they have the item in stock. If the other store has sold out of item, they may not honor the lower price. They do that if it is a really “hot” item, and they think the demand is higher than the supply. Like some “must have” toy at Christmas, for example.

To mightymouse you are right on point.

The store however will require a copy of the sale item or regular item price for confirmation and then they will sell at the same price or lower.

In my state we have a store that will actually call the other store for a price check.

Some places even offer better than same price or lower

Our price match policy is that if you find a better-listed online price on any item we carry*, let us know and we will beat the price by 130% of the difference

No one will sell anything for less than they do (that would be under-selling it). If they guarantee it, then they typically have a policy in place that allows them to match any competitor’s price.

So if they sell a TV for $100, and some other place sells it for $90, they are being under-sold, so they will match that price.

Most places with such guarantees limit this to advertized prices.

This is when a store makes a guarantee to have the lowest possible price on an item. For example, if you were to see a commercial for K-mart selling a pair of shorts for $10 for example and they made this claim to you, then you went over to Wal-mart and found the exact same shorts for $8, then you can bring the ad for Wal-mart over to K-mart and K-mart will sell you the shorts for $8.

It usually means they have a lowest price guarantee. They customarily require all sorts of proof and documentation that you found a lower price at another store before they honor it.

If you find that Store “B” sell that all purpose scraper for $50, and the Store that wants your business sells it for $60, if you bring in a store ad to support the claim, they will sell it to you for that $50.

But read the fine print, as they always try to find a way to wiggle out of it

That if you show proof of a lower price at another store, they will honor that price and sell it to you at the lower price.

It means they want consumers to believe that they are completely committed to offering the lowest prices. Being undersold would mean that their competitors sold something for less.
