What does it mean “we did the final interview yesterday and select one person other than you.?
Anyway it will take some more time to receive information from the faculty…
what does it mean …it is me and other guy or other guy.. who got selected?

Unfortunately, they chose someone else for the job.
They don’t want to say “We didn’t hire you,” so they say something long and complicated to try to spare your feelings.
I’m sure there is an even better job waiting for you, though 😀

It means that the person who wrote it is not a native speaker of English. The person probably meant that they selected (and not select) someone else for the position in question and not you, unfortunately. If the position is important to you, I would suggest you request a clarification from the person who sent the message.
