ZUT: a french word for ‘shoot’ and ‘darn’. my french teacher uses it all the time.

SWEET ONIONS: i was playing the sims making magic once, and i had to find onions for a magical recipe. i had spent over an hour looking for one, and i finally found the person who had one. i said, ‘oh sweet, onions!’ and my mom started laughing cuz she thought i was upset…that’s kinda how it started.

Isn’t it a skill to express ourselves clearly and emphatically without resorting to curse words?

Instead of calling someone MF, I usually say “I’m so disappointed in you!” Or “you’re quite the disappointment”

as an exclamation… “dagnabit” or

“OH, for the love of God.” which I often translate into German

Ach, du Leiber Gott. Pls forgive the spelling. I don’t know if that’s taking the Lord’s name in vain or not.

Gee Monetti! is another. As in, Gee monetti that bus almost hit us!

My Father used to say, “Well for spitting on the dog.” I worked with some Russian guys, and they’d say “Masheesta.” So I started too. It’s a curse word in Russian.

Variations on different words is more common with me and the people I know:

nucken futs

kissed as a piwi (we’re from NZ you’ll figure it out)

putz (excuse the spelling)

And one that I say when I am around children and can’t swear is SFGDSOB – which you can also probably figure out if I space it out S F GD SOB

I say, “Criminy” a lot. I don’ t know if that’s too generic for you or not.

My son used to say, “Buttered Toast!” in place of any cuss words.
