What are the direct & indirect objects in this sentence?

Tell Greg, Weasley, and Carol the story about your first day abroad the submarine.

I wasn’t sure if Greg, Weasley, and Carol were indirect objects or direct object. “story” is a direct object – right?

the story is direct, the people are indirect.

it might be more clear if you thought of it as:

Tell the story to harry, ron and hermione.

in that case, clearly story is direct, the names (which have been changed in honor of my finishing the 7th book) are indirect.

your sentence has the same meaning (with a different order), so the parts of speech are the same.
