Pre-Algebra homework! HELP!!!!?

ok I have some pre-algebra homework and i need help with this section! I will give you one problem please answer it for me with some directions and I’ll be abale to solve the others! thanks!

Simply each expression-

( THE 2 OUTSIDE OF THE PARENTHESIS IS AN EXPONENT NOT A REUGLAR NUMERAL)

It’s always best to remember these rules.

As someone else mentioned -288 is correct.

1. Do any equations in parentheses first.

2. Do exponents next.

3. Do multiplication & division next.

4. Then do addition & subtraction last.

NOTE: If you have a + or – under a divisor, they should be in parenthesis and done first.

Don’t forget these rules too.

– * – = +

+*+ = +

-*+ = –

+*- = –

so first you multiply -6^2 which gives you 36. The u mulitiply that by -4 which gives you -144. Then times that by 2. Which gives you -288. Dont forget the negative.

(-6) squared equals 36. Times -4 = 144 times 2 = 288. Hope i’m right, might have made arithmetic errors. 🙂
