Is this story too light-hearted?
I frequently get light-headed and my doctor, a very light hearted man, is treating me regularly. He is usually a beacon of hope, but the other day he told me that he saw no light at the end of the tunnel in my case. He advised me to come directly to his office, day or night, the next time I had a spell. He wants to try a new laser light technique that is supposed to lighten or stop such spells.
I hate driving over there at night though. I have to drive through the red-light district, and there are a lot of traffic lights. Deciding to wait until morning, I headed back to the house but as I reached the steps, every thing went dark. I woke up in an ambulance with red lights flashing and the siren wailing. Fortunately, my doctor had been called and arrived at the hospital just as I did. He had a great idea and using the laser light he brought with him, managed to keep my lights from going out permanently.
The experience changed my life. Though I’ll never be light on my feet again, I have seen the light and my life is now full of lightness and joy. I work in my garden daily, tending the bulbs and seeds I planted. Its light work and gives me much joy. I plan to pass the rest of my days out of the spotlight and hope to see the light of redemption someday.
