Is it grammatically correct to say “the others musicians”?

I had a grammar test in school…i’ll type the whole question so you know: “A few musicians are good. All of _____ musicians are amateurs.” In the space i used “the other”(so it would be the other musicians etc.) And the teacher says it’s “the others musicians”…i mean isn’t that a misuse of the “s” ?

You are correct. “Other” is never pluralized when it is used as an adjective. However, if that sentence did not have “musicians,” “others” would be functioning as a noun. For example:

All of the others are amateurs.

I don’t think that your teacher was feeling well. But as is nearly always the case with grammatical problems you can evade them by re-wording.

In this case I would have just one sentence “A few musicians are good; the rest are amateurs.”

Your teacher is confused.

You are correct: All of the other musicians are amateurs.

But you could say: All of the others are amateurs.
