Here’s an example. Until Saturday, I was on the Board of Directors for my little Home Owners Assn. The members of the board wanted to tap into the fire hydrant to irrigate a traffic island. I said that was stealing. They said “oh, the County won’t mind”. I resigned because I felt it was unethical and I wanted nothing to do with it … or them.

Let’s say that I pay for something, and they hand me back too much change. My personal integrity is going to return the excess change.

Someone hands me the answers to the final exam in a subject that I’m struggling in. My integrity will not allow me to look at the answers.

You see someone stealing something from a store, your integrity will either confront the person, or notify someone in the store with what you saw.
