most are called nee-na, but my grandma is called nine-a. she says most people call her nee-na, so that is more common.

It depends on the person.
Some like to have it pronounced NINE-a.
Others pronounce their names NEE-na.
It’s individual preference. I’ve known both.
It’s like “AN-drea” vs. “ahn-DRAY-uh” for Andrea. I work with both of those ladies.
I even know an Ava who pronounces it AH-va. Strange.
