How do you pronounce Gaia?

Ive been saying it like this: Guy-ah. Some Christians may know about this name.

Guy-ah is correct, but I’ve also heard jee-ah from some scientists and environmentalists. Gaia is the name of the earth when it first came to be according to Greek mythology. Don’t know why you would think Christians rather than others would know about the name.

I have always said “Gay-yuh” just because that’s how it looks to me for Greek. Which is what the New Testament was written in, but the old in Hebrew, which I know little about.

I’ll research this puppy if I must but I’m tired of many Christian things for the time being and just always remember ’cause of so much prior study. Be back, maybe…

I pronounce it as Gaya. And I have never had anybody disagree with me on it. Please try to find the right area for your question next time though. It’s just polite, thats all. =P
