2. Pay bills on time or ahead of time.
3. Pay things off long before you have to deal with creditors.
4. Don’t have too many cards open.
5. Don’t have a high balance on cards, and never owe half of the credit allowed on any given card.
6. Don’t frequently apply for credit. (It pulls down your credit score whenever you apply.)
7. IF you have a bad debt, pay it off; get receipts; send those receipts to the credit reporting agencies so they will acknowledge the debt is paid.
8. Keep a good credit history for 7 years. (Credit reports only go so far back.)
9. Keep tabs on your credit score. Credit reporting agencies are required to give you one free look at your credit report, yearly.
10. NEVER give your teenagers your credit card. You’ll regret it.
