Has anyone ever heard of the word “Chaunce”?
My Mother’s family would say, ” I’m going to chaunce you if you don’t stop it.” I never dared to use it outside of the family.

The Urban Dictionary offers some possibilities:

As a name it is derived from the word chancellor.
It also could derive from old English ‘chaunce-medley’ (mixed accident) or manslaughter. This one seems more likely.
What your family was saying was ‘I am going to kill you, but it will look like an accident’

I named my black lab Chaunce. That is the only other way that I have ever used it.
