DEPENDS if you are trying to spell a color or a persons last name.

Both are correct; “gray” is listed first in most dictionaries, indicating it is the preferred form, but that’s just the editor’s call. Personally, I like “grey,” and I have no idea why! 🙂
I can tell you that as a person who does genealogy as a hobby, I seldom see the name “Gray” before the 20th century; it was usually spelled “Grey” when used as a surname before that time, so maybe that has something to do with it.

I use a differant spelling each time coz i never remember. I do think it’s grey though but i’m not sure really…xx
