for old times’ sake

if you do something for old times’ sake, you do it in order to remember a happy time in the past. e.g. Do you want to have lunch together sometime, just for old times’ sake?

For old times’ sake.

You aren’t saying ‘time is’ therefore the apostrophe would go after the ‘s’ to show ownership.

when you insert an apostrophy between the e & the s it means: time is.

old times is correct.
