english words?

i want to teach my two years old son to recognise”brother” and “sister” but he don’t have any siblings, so i use other person picture to show him example for him to understand.

after teach him the words, i must give him the sentences of the word for him to completely understand..

normally, english grammar is ” what does your brother do?” my brother is acrobat.

but i can teach him as ” what does brother do?” brother is acrobat.

can i delete” your” & ”my” ?because the picture of the brother is not his real brother. if cannot delete how am i going to make the brother sentences?

can u give me 6 sentences of brother for me because i give my son in 6 example sentence of the words. tq

Your son is two years old. Just getting him to pronounce and use “brother” and “sister” is work. Forget about the articles. While they are important, you have plenty of years to conform your son’s grammer to the rules.

2). Put in the articles:

A juicer or a squeezer is used to squeeze the juice from an orange.

Remember, the article before a word that starts with a vowel is always “an”

The sentence that is correct is “Juicer or squeezer is used to squeeze the juice from an orange? Remember when you want to use the word “a” it is “an” when the next word begins with a vowel. for example look at the sentence I just typed. In your sentence you typed “a orange” it should be “an orange”.

Also with teaching your son how to use brother or sister in a sentence maybe try using a cartoon character on t.v. that he likes. For instance you could say ” Diego has a sister name ______” or “Caiou has a sister name ______” .

Maybe he could relate to that a little better.

I think it might be helpful if you teach your son exactly what a brother or sister is. I would get pictures a families and point out mother, father as you and the boy’s dad, and a little boy as your son, and another child as the brother. Get several pictures with families and make the comparison.

2) Neither: A juicer or squeezer is used to squeeze (the-optional) juice from an orange.

A juicer is used to squeeze juice from a fruit. But if you said squeezer probably most people would understand it.

A boy and girl who have the same mother and father are called brother and sister. The boy is the brother to the girl. The girl is the sister to the boy.

Two girls who have the same mother and father are called sisters. They are each the sister of the other.

Two boys who have the same parents are called brothers. They are each the brother of the other.

No you cannot leave the word ‘your’ out of the sentence “What does your brother do?” unless you substitute something else:

“What does a brother do? or What does his brother do? or What does my brother do?

How about using examples of other people your child knows who have siblings. Do you or your husband have any brothers or sisters? What about children is story books? They have brothers and sisters. Read those stories to them.

If I had a sister I would play with her.

If I had a brother he would teach me to ride a bike.

Maybe I will have a sister some day.

Your can delete the word your or “My” because many American English speakers will use the word brother like a name. Just like mommy and daddy are names.

You would say what does Mommy do?

Mommy is a nurse.

Its the same as using brother.

Now having said ,I think you are picking the wrong place to get proper English language lessons. Try online DVDs or even a library. The English grammar on this site is horrible.

FYI when using the word “OR” its single choice when the noun is singular so you would use the “IS”. So know whenever you use “OR” and your noun is singular, your verb is also singular.

If you had said Juciers or Squeezers are used to squeeze the juice from an orange. That would be correct because the nouns are plural so you use “ARE”

My goodness, I’m reminded of that expression about the blind leading the blind. You need to improve your English first.

Don’t worry about teaching a two year old about siblings. Lots of children don’t have siblings. They will learn that in the general course of life, when it is time.

A juicer or squeezer IS used to squeeze juice. You are talking about a singular object so, it needs “is”

Juicers or squeezers ARE used to squeeze juice. You are talking about plural objects so, it needs “are”

My brother is “AN” acrobat.

His brother is an acrobat.

The brother is an acrobat.

You need the article.

My older brother is taller than my mother.

His brother is mean to him.

I have four brothers, but only one sister.

I’ve known him since I was born; we are like brothers.

My younger brother still wears diapers.

His brother is an olympic athlete.
