Does this sentence have reasonable context?

“Ever since they are born, people have a congenital mindset that causes them to think nothing bad will ever happen to them, but life has a way of throwing you off track at the worst of times.”

From this sentence, can you easily tell what ‘congenital’ means? I wrote it for one of my Pre-AP English Vocab Sentences, and they all have to have good context. Thoughts?

Not if people reading it don’t know its meaning. To get your point across, you might say, “People are born with a mindset……”
