Does the phrase “thank you in advance” drive anyone else crazy?
Basically, it’s like saying “thank you if you choose not help. For every one else, SCREW YOU”
Why don’t people just say “thank you for your time” or consideration, or something like that?

Saying “thank you in advance” really just means, “Things may get too hectic later on, or I might forget to make the rounds and say ‘thank you’ after the fact, so let me just show you my appreciation right now, while I already have your attention.”
How can you thank someone in advance, when you don’t know whether or not they did anything to be thanked for?
It’s like trying to guilt them into complying.
How about a nice “thank you” instead, without the “in advance.”
