No. I don’t know the exact reason it doesn’t- but I said it out loud a couple of times and I agree with you!

There are several literary forms of rhyming, including rhymes where two words simply LOOK alike.

With regards to the traditional “rhyme” we learned about as kids, no, “Lame-o Potato” does not rhyme because the consonants after the last emphasized syllable are different.

But it DOES rhyme according to the poetic rule where only the two vowel sounds need to sound alike. (I forget the technical name for that kind of rhyme.)

Yes, if you say it slowly. It does rhyme because the o in lame-o goes with the last o in potato.

Yes “Lame-o” and “Potato” rhyme.

“Oh, Oh Potato” also rhyme and they do not have the same consonant as the other answerer said.

“Oh NO Potato” rhyme as well as “Oh No Lame-o” rhyme.

Homo and Potato also rhyme.

They all have the same “OH” sound at the end. (PUH-TEY-TOH)

Unless you’re pronouncing potato – “pah-tay-tah” which is incorrect.

Good question though (oops! there’s another potato rhyme – though)
